Changping Exhibition Zone at CIFTIS Culture and Tourism Services Section: A Host of Highlights Await Your Visit!

2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services

BEIJING, Sept. 14, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- On September 11, the third day of the 2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), the Changping Exhibition Zone of the Culture and Tourism Services Section presented a concentrated display of achievements in museum cultural creativity, rural makers, and all-for-one cultural tourism development.

At the Bengong Youli booth in the Changping Exhibition Zone, a phoenix crown slowly lit up with a faint golden glow, its pearl and jade adornments adding to the atmosphere. This is the "Twelve Dragons and Nine Phoenixes Crown of Empress Xiaojing" replica collector's edition, a new product launched this year by Bengong Youli, the officially authorised creative cultural institution of the Ming Tombs Museum. The replica faithfully reproduces the details of Empress Xiaojing's crown ornaments, exquisitely recreating the beauty of Ming dynasty royal jewellery craftsmanship and allowing visitors to experience the unique charm of Ming Tombs cultural relics up close.

Also on display were phoenix crown-themed postcards and aromatherapy products, integrating cultural relic elements into everyday items. As a creative cultural cooperation institution that settled in the Ming Tombs Township in 2025, Bengong Youli has developed over 100 creative cultural products within two years. Its hit product, the "Phoenix Crown Fridge Magnet," has generated over 30,000 spontaneously shared posts online, exceeded 5 billion views, and won 23 domestic and international design awards.

On the other side, the Xinzhuang booth displayed handmade works from village merchants and finished intangible cultural heritage Mao Hou (fur monkey) figurines. Each exhibit connects the diverse business formats of Xinzhuang's "Makers' Main Street." As one of the first demonstration villages of Beijing's "Hundreds and Thousands" Project, Xinzhuang Village has innovatively implemented a "curator" model, bringing together more than 80 business curators and creating a 490-metre Makers' Main Street, complete with woodworking workshops, cafés, and handicraft studios.

"Xinzhuang Village now has merchants in traditional Chinese medicine, calligraphy, painting, music, and many other fields, with fairly comprehensive supporting facilities," said Li Jianfu, a staff member of the Operations Department of Xinzhuang Village's rural tourism company. "Most of the curators rent houses from local residents, and they are all doing well now. The residents have rented out their houses and earn more income than before." In 2025, Xinzhuang Village received over 500,000 visits throughout the year, with a single-day peak of 20,000, forging a distinctive path for the transformation and upgrading of a traditional village.

The creative cultural works brought by Changping Culture and Tourism Group were equally striking in the exhibition zone. The "Four Scenes of the Canal" fridge magnets use an alloy material to recreate the elegance of 700-year-old cultural relics, embodying the meaning of "good fortune of the rising dragon" and featuring four designs: the park archway, Longquan Zen Temple, the Temple of the Dragon King, and the Baifu Spring ruins. The "Elephant Impression" seal is based on the classic stone elephant statues among the Ming Tombs' stone figures. The stone elephant symbolises auspiciousness, conveying the meanings of "peace and prosperity" and "everything takes on a new look." Each creative cultural work reflects Changping's profound cultural heritage and the innovative vitality of cultural tourism integration.

On the Changping tourism map beside the booth, a 42-kilometre distinctive greenway connects core nodes such as the Baifu Spring ruins, the Ming Tombs, and the Wenyu River, with well-known scenic spots and information on dining and accommodation that visitors care about all clearly marked.

"We are mainly exhibiting representative creative cultural products from various scenic spots under Changping Culture and Tourism Group, which has attracted many fans of Changping culture," said Gao Ying, a staff member of Changping Culture and Tourism Group. "The Changping tourism map beside the exhibition zone covers all the famous scenic spots, and also marks the dining and accommodation information that visitors care about. It has attracted many visitors to come and enquire, and quite a few added our WeChat on the spot. I hope this exhibition can contribute our part to promoting Changping."

From the creative cultural product phoenix crown to rural makers, Changping is leveraging a brand-new model of deep cultural and tourism integration to bring cultural relics to life and make the countryside thrive.
